Valerie Squires is a landscape and nature photographer from Newfoundland and Labrador. She was born and raised in historic downtown St. John’s, while spending her childhood summers and weekends climbing the hills of picturesque Petty Harbor - the hometown of her mother, and at her beloved family cabin on the shores of Gambo Pond in the central region of the province.
Valerie moved to the town of Bay Bulls on the southern shore of the Avalon Peninsula in 1996 where she still lives today along with her husband and two young children. She holds so much appreciation and respect for the endless beauty of her province, and especially the Southern Shore.
From stars to sunrises, from wharves to waves, and from foggy shores to foxes and squirrels, Valerie strives to capture the glory and wonders of her surroundings with her camera.
